Pauline Bolling, Secretary-Treasurer
pbolling@structuralsteelco.com

Pauline became Co-founder of Structural Steel Company along with her husband Ernest in 1956.  He had a vision and she stood beside him to make it become their vision.  She did whatever task was needed to see that the job was done without complaint.  Thanks to her hard work and sacrifice they built this Company from its humble beginnings into the respected and financially strong Company it is today.  She has been so successful in part due to her recognition of the role her employees play in that success.  Pauline and Ernest always considered their employees as part of an extended family.  They strived to provide safe working conditions, good pay, and benefits that are rarely seen in small companies.  After the death of Ernest in 1990 she returned to the place where they worked side by side for over 30 years and continued to keep that vision alive.  She has earned the respect of all her employees and will always be fondly thought of as “Mom”.  In 1998 she went into semi-retirement after knee replacement surgery, but remains and integral part of day to day operations today.

Richard Jamison, President
rjamison@structuralsteelco.com

Dick began his career in the Steel industry in 1963 as a Detailer for Peerless Drafting.  He later went to Roanoke Iron and Bridge where he worked his way up from Drafting to Project Manager to Sales.  He joined the Structural Steel team in May 1985 as Project Manger where he quickly earned the trust of Ernest Bolling, the founder of the company, by demonstrating his ability to solve problems properly and efficiently.  He was made Vice President in 1989 when Ernest was diagnosed with cancer.  He rose to that challenge and provided a seamless transition through this sad time and into the years that followed.  In 2006 as the Company approached its 50th Anniversary Dick was promoted to President as he continued to oversee the operations of the Company.  He has earned the respect of his employees and the Contractors he works with by being a man of integrity and carrying on the Bolling’s tradition of doing what it takes to do the job right.  He has truly earned his title as “Man of Steel” during his distinguished 45 year journey.

David Gibson, Project Manager
dgibson@structuralsteelco.com

David is the newest member of the Structural Steel Team.  He began his career in 1979 when he joined John W. Hancock as a Draftsman/Detailer.  In 1999 he sought a new horizon when he joined Cole & Associates as a Project Manager and Sales Estimator.  In April 2007 he came to Structural Steel Company as Project Manager bringing a strong background in Joist and Deck and ready to take on the challenge of structural steel.  He has become a well respected member of the team.  He meets each new challenge head-on and works steadily to meet and exceed expectations.  He has quickly established himself with Contractors as a man they can trust to get the job done.

Frank Peters, Purchasing
fpeters@structuralsteelco.com

Frank joined Structural Steel Company in October 1977 as a welder in the shop.  He worked his way up through the ranks to become a fitter and in 1981 was promoted to Assistant Shop Forman.  In 1985 he became Plant Superintendent where he worked until October 2000 when he moved into the office as Purchasing Manager.  Working in all facets of the shop provided him with a good foundation for knowing how to purchase material to keep production flowing smoothly.  He has been a loyal employee with the Company for more than 30 years and is considered by his fellow employees to be one who has earned their respect.  He is an employee who truly respects the Company, the Owners and its Management Team and shows this to other employees by his example.

Lisa Jordan, Estimating
ljordan@structuralsteelco.com

Lisa joined the Structural Steel Team in July 1989 as an Estimator.  She began her career as a Draftsperson with Peerless Drafting in 1987.  In 1989 she joined a sister company, Structural Software, as a Software Tester for an innovative computer program designed to streamline the fabrication process.  Her skills proved her to be a valuable asset and she was offered the Estimating position with Structural Steel.  Since 1989 she has worked to provide detailed and accurate estimates that have allowed us to be the successful bidder on hundreds of projects.  She is known to have the ability to see the building rise up form the lines on the paper which helps to make each job she estimates more accurate.

Melissa Howell, Controller
mhowell@structuralsteelco.com

Melissa joined the Structural Steel Team in March 1997.  Her background includes positions in the Construction industry ranging from an HVAC supplier to an Architectural firm to Housing Systems.  Along the way she has enjoyed learning about each industry and it has been no different with the Steel industry.  In 1998 she stepped up to meet the challenge of filling in for Pauline Bolling, co-founder of the company,  as she moved into semi-retirement.  She works with Dick Jamison, the President,  on all financial aspects of the day to day operations.  She considers herself to have found a home at Structural Steel Company, doing a job she loves and she appreciates the trust that has been placed in her.
